many updates needed

the lack of updates lately doesn't mean that i'm doing anything cool lately... quite the opposite! (which does make me busy, which contributes to the lack of posts. sure, they could be brief, but i do ramble on...)

among the things to update:
- (june) Adventure24. the behind the scenes details on how our 2nd annual race went
- (july) the Ultra O-Gaine. playing hide & seek with evil little orange flags in Pine Mtn, GA
- (aug) the unfortunate demise of this year's Midnight Rush AR (that I dedicated an incredible amount of time to putting on)
- (labor day) the perfect day of biking w/friends at pinhoti
- (sept) the Tsali Challenge: Solo (8th!) and Team (1st all female!)
- and coming up this weekend... the Overmountain Extreme II Adventure Race. 30 hrs of fun/pain in Pisgah Nat'l Forest in NC. my return to longer events, finally! (I haven't done one since the Odyssey race in Feb when I got injured).

First Fridays Bike to Work

As of Wednesday, I am the official owner of a new-to-me road bike: a gorgeous Trek 5200 OCLV. (pic to come) So today I was able to participate in Chattanooga's bike to work initiative. I left a few minutes after 7am and met Rebecca en route. The destination was Miller Park downtown (about 4.5 miles), where a delicious breakfast awaited us. There was also a raffle of some great prizes, although I was not lucky winner. I did enjoy riding to work, although when I primarily work off my laptop (which is too expensive for me to feel comfortable with it stashed in my pack), it makes it more difficult (had to drop it off at the office last night after getting a bit more work done last night). Hopefully when work calms down and I can leave it at the office, I can do this more.
