This was a great small race in a tiny town with a ton of community sponsorship and support! Jim called me up last minute to race with him. The race started with a nice trail run, then transitioned to a too-short mountain bike section. After a short run to the water, we encountered a 170' rappel, short swim, then an awesome whitewater paddle that included the only class III rapid in Alabama. We almost made it through, but flipped at the end! The race ended with a short run through downtown, finishing in the downtown square. There were a few challenges with the timing system, with some things getting messed up, but they figured it all out and we were lucky to walk away with 2nd place in our division, winning some CASHOLA and a case of Red Bull! woohoooo!
