the basics:
mountain biking (singletrack & paved), trekking, paddling, mucho bushwacking, creek wading, swimming, navigating. due to missing the final cut off, we were spared the toxic swamp-wacking. i must add in our special challenge of hauling an 80+ lb tandem kayak out of the ocmulgee river, at a boat take out that really was just a random, steep, very muddy cliff-like area... then hauling the kayak up, over, and down a levee. even with portaging wheels, this was no small feat for 2 gals. this is what cost us precious time - we missed the cut-off to get on the final trekking section by 2 measely minutes. (thus the long face in the picture above).
